How We Research
This is a sample page used to check the layout of Stowlore while the site is built. It explains our method in plain terms and will be reviewed again before the site goes live.
Research only, never a personal-use claim
Stowlore publishes research-only comparisons. We do not buy, unbox or carry the luggage, bags or accessories we write about, and we never say otherwise. We compare published specs, price tiers and real owner reviews, and we write what we find in plain language with a source link and a check date attached.
What we read before we write
For every product, we start with the maker's own product page, spec sheet or manual, because that is where dimensions, weight, material and warranty terms are published first. We then check the product's current listing on the retailer's own page, and we read a wide set of recent owner reviews to find the themes that repeat across many different buyers, both good and bad.
What counts as a source
A source is a page we can link to: a maker's spec page, a retailer's product listing, an airline's own carry-on size page, or a standards or safety page. We do not treat a single review, a forum post or a social media comment as a source on its own. When we describe an owner-review theme, we summarize what many reviewers say in our own words. We do not copy review text, and we do not copy or restate star ratings.
Price tiers and dates
Stowlore does not print dollar prices, because live marketplace prices change often and we are not pulling a live price feed. Each pick shows a price tier instead of a dollar figure: Budget, Mid-range or Premium. The tier compares the maker list price on our check date with similar products in the same category, and the Check current price on Amazon link shows today's price. If you want the current price, use the linked button to check the retailer's page directly.
Picking what to compare
Before we rank any item, we confirm the exact model is still listed for sale under the name we are writing about. If a model has been replaced by a newer version, we note that in the text and compare the current model instead. We look at fit for the stated use case first, then published dimensions and weight, then durability themes from owner reviews, then price tier.
Keeping guides current
We recheck the facts on a guide on a regular schedule, and we date that check with a visible "Last verified" line near the top of the page. If a spec, a price or an airline rule changes between checks, we update the page and note what changed.
Corrections
If you spot an error, tell us through our contact page. Name the page, the fact, and the source that shows the correct information. We check it and fix the page, and we note the correction.
